were DELICIOUS! They were non-fat also, but of course I put cream
cheese on them Also, be sure you make sure there is no cheese, etc. on
the racks or on the bottom of your oven. 550° will set anything in
there on fire! (Keep the baking soda handy.) Load into the bread machine: 1 Cup water 1 -1/2 T. honey 1 Tsp salt 1 Cup whole wheat flour 2 Cup white flour 1 -1/2 t. yeast (I actually used all 3 cups of whole wheat flour.) Let
bread machine knead dough once, then rise for only 20 minutes. Remove
dough from machine and divide into 12 pieces. Roll each piece into a
rope, form a circle, press ends together (moistening ends with water
helps). Place bagels on well-greased baking sheet, cover, let rise for
15-20 minutes. While bagels rise, bring about 2 inches of
water to a light boil in a non-aluminum pan. My cast iron skillet
worked great. Carefully lower 3 or 4 bagels at a time into boiling
water, cook for about 30 seconds on each side. Remove bagels and drain
on a towel. Return to greased baking sheet and bake in preheated 550*
oven for @ 8 minutes.
